Location

DeLand is a quiet historic college town with reasonably-priced family-run restaurants, hotels, and bed and breakfasts; bookstores, antique stores, cafes, galleries, yoga studios, and bakeries line the downtown walking district. The city has won awards for economic vitality and historic preservation. Tree-lined streets in neighborhoods of 100-year-old homes offer pleasant walking, running, and biking. If you are a city dweller, DeLand offers the feel of a weekend in the country.

DeLand is centrally located, an hour from the Orlando airport and a half hour from the Daytona airport; shuttles are available from both airports. Amtrak maintains a station here, with trains connecting DeLand to Miami and the Northeast. By car, DeLand is equidistant from Miami and Tallahassee and easily accessible from major highways.

The area offers an abundance of entertainment possibilities. Pristine natural springs, rivers, and parks are a few minutes away, and a variety of beaches are close by. Canaveral National Seashore is forty minutes to the east and the Ocala National Forest thirty minutes to the west. Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, and the other Orlando attractions are an hour away, an easy day trip.

Policies

The course is conceived as a four-year sequence, each level building on the last. A new Level 1 class begins every other September. Students with extensive previous experience and/or training in homeopathy may be eligible to enter at an appropriate advanced level; this special exception must be worked out on an individual basis.

Students are evaluated at the end of each year for their eligibility to continue to the next level; if the need is determined, students may be asked to repeat some or all of one level before proceeding to the next. Means of evaluation may include tests and/or written projects. Students are also required to complete appropriate training in Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology before beginning Level 3; previous training in these subjects can be counted for this requirement.

Eligibility and Application

Applicants should have completed at least two academic years (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits) at the baccalaureate or equivalent level. Coursework should include basic sciences, and transcripts should accompany the application. Alternatively, certain combinations of study and life experience may qualify a student for admission, as determined on an individual basis. Applicants are invited to inquire about their particular circumstances.

A complete application consists of the application form, official transcripts, and a written statement as directed on the application form. A deposit of $300 must accompany the application form; this will be applied to the first tuition payment, or returned in full in the event a student is not accepted to the school. Students will be notified within two weeks of the action taken on their application.

Upon admission, students receive a complete information packet with directions, hotel and travel information, and instructions about what to bring to class.
